NPAA Creates Smiles on 177 Youngsters at Milwaukee Muskie Expo

Forestville, WI-Cooperating with the Milwaukee Musky Expo recently, the National Professional Anglers Association presented rods and reels to 177 youngsters at a special seminar. Expo chairman Doug Reuter said, “It was fantastic to see their smiles.  This also brought freshness to the industry.”

A number of NPAA members were present including Matt Pikka, Tony Puccio, Greg Karch and Steve Worrall.  Larry Dahlberg and Jacob and Jared Stankowski (the Musky Brothers) kept attention riveted on what young anglers needed to know about musky fishing and the tools of the trade.

NPAA Executive Director Pat Neu said, “This was their first annual event, and whenever the NPAA can partner with organizations to get kids involved in fishing, we will step up to the plate.  The fishing tackle industry has backed this effort through funding that translates directly to rods and reels in the hands of smiling youngsters.”  Neu said the NPAA will soon announce a new youth initiative.

The Muskie Expo hosted the World Championship Hand-crafted Musky Lure contest, with entries from as far away as Norway.  After judging, the lures were auctioned with $1,300 in proceeds going to NPAA for future youth educational musky programs.
