Well, this is a first! We were muskie fishing yesterday and Liam Whetter had a giant pike follow in his bait. Then the big bruiser - easily 48-inches but I think she was 50-inches plus - followed in my bait. She did this three times, so I dropped my muskie rod, and picked up my pike stick loaded with my "go to" Williams Lures Whitefish half gold / half silver spoon with a single siwash trailer. I cast it out, saw her swim in behind the spoon and then this muskie rushed up and grabbed it in front of her. I've had the reverse happen many times with snot-rocket pike beating muskies to the bait, but I've never had a muskie do it to a pike.
