The Committee of the Modern Day Muskellunge World Record Program
(MDMWRP), formed in 2006, and comprised of a trusted combination of muskie anglers, guides, writers, industry personnel and fisheries scientists, is pleased to announce that the organization has a permanent home at MuskieFirst.com, Steve Worrall and company have graciously agreed to host and promote the MDMWRP record keeping organization on their Internet web site; www.muskiefirst.com.

Jim Saric, Editor, Musky Hunter magazine and Musky Hunter TV show host, had the following to say: “I think it’s a good idea to have the modern day record program have a home on Muskie First.   After all, this is really a program to analyze newly kept muskies greater than 60 pounds…”

This program was created to facilitate the recording and verification of a modern day muskellunge world record, the brass ring of our sport., not only for this generation, but for future generations as well, filling the current record void with a legitimate modern day record muskie fisherman can all rally around, without sacrificing our catch and release core belief due to a minimum acceptance weight of 60 pounds.

The committee overwhelmingly agreed this move to MuskieFirst.com will be an asset for the programs general awareness, and therefore be more readily accepted and available to all anglers. The MDMWRP will also recognize a modern day Tiger Muskellunge record, with our minimum weight for acceptance set at 40 pounds.
