This past Sunday was Kid’s day at the Milwaukee Muskie Expo!!!  The day started out with Certified Angler Educator Greg Karch and NPAA Member #138, hosting a fishing seminar that introduced youth to fishing.  Over sixty youth and their parents attended the seminar.   The seminar kicked off with Lakken, who is seven years old, talking about the three muskies he caught in 2014 and his goal of catching a musky that will be forty-five inches or larger for the 2015 fishing season.  Greg then presented his ‘Fishing Basics’ seminar which reviewed fishing safety, spin cast and spinning combos, setting the hook, casting, knots, fish identification, parts of a fish, bait, catch and release, and the AIS message of ‘Clean, Drain and Dry’.  Each youth attending the Fishing Basics seminar had a choice of a Shakespeare Fishing Combo or a NPAA Future Pro Shirt which were donated by the National Professional Anglers Association and the Future Angler Foundation, which is on a mission to grow the sport of fishing!!!

Greg would like to thank the NPAA and Future Angler Foundation for the fishing goodies, Lakken, NPAA members Dewey Stewart #365 and Duffy Kopf #635 which helped distribute the fishing goodies, along with Greg’s personal sponsors which include: Dave’s Musky Club, Shakespeare, Berkley, Plano, Mercury, Triton Boats, The Boat Doc, Off Shore Tackle Company, Northland Tackle, TTI Blakemore Fishing Group, Navionics, Maui Jim and The Reel Shot.
