Chase on the Lake Announced as 2009 Leech Lake Muskie Anglers Circuit Headquarters

Chase on the Lake, Walker, MN

Chase on the Lake in downtown Walker, MN announced today the unique resort/hotel facility will be the location for the rules meeting and virtual weigh ins for the Leech Lake Muskie Anglers Circuit Tournament August 22nd, 2009.

Chase on the Lake, a recently renovated resort/hotel facility situated just behind Reeds Sports on Leech Lake will host the Leech Lake MAC rules meeting, weigh ins, morning boat check and provide space for the MAC media truck and stage adjacent to the public docks in downtown Walker. The facility offers plenty of on the water boat parking, and truck and boat parking in the parking lot behind Reeds.

The full dining and bar facilities at Chase on the Lake will be available during and after the rules meeting and following each evening’s virtual weigh in.

Lodging is available at Chase on the Lake at a special price, which will be announced on the MAC website by July 15th.  Several other area motels will offer rooms at discounted rates as well, watch for details on the MAC website. For a listing of Leech Lake resorts, see:

Leech Lake Guide Jim Murphy

Leech Lake is known for excellent big fish action in August, and according to local guide Jim Murphy, the MAC timed the Leech Lake event perfectly. Muskies over 50″ are not uncommon, and Murph anticipates several will be caught during competition. The MAC rules meeting will begin with registration at 6:00 PM the 21st, and the rules meeting at 7:00 PM sharp. Fishing hours will begin with check in on the water at Chase on the Lake at 6:00 AM. Fishing will begin at 7:00 AM, and end at 5:00 PM the 22nd.

The Muskie Anglers Circuit was formed to

a) provide a national competitive arena and media platform to showcase the abilities and personalities of the sport’s most skilled competitive muskie anglers
b) promote muskie angling and conservation and to provide educational opportunities for current and future generations of anglers and
c) showcase products and service that support the sport of muskie fishing.

All MAC tournaments are CPR (Catch, Photo, and Immediate Release).
