With less than a month to go until the start of the 2017 FLW Tour, Zoneloc pro Jay Yelas needs to be prepped and ready to go. Sure, he has all of his Zoneloc hooks boxed up and ready for bassy battles this season, but what else does this former Angler of the Year and Bassmaster Classic champion do to prepare for the rigors of a professional tournament fishing season? Read on and find out.

Tackle prep.

“I inventory everything before the season starts,” said Yelas. “Then I order as needed for the season. My focus is more on the first couple of events.”

Boat prep.

“I’ll be picking up my new Ranger z520c in a couple of weeks,” said Yelas. “I’ll have to break the engine in along with all of the other equipment. It needs to be ready to fish at the first tournament.”

Travel prep.

“I make sure my travel bookings are taken care of,” said Yelas. “That includes flights and accommodations. You don’t want to wait until the last minute for this.”
