Dear Wisconsin Hunter,

Congratulations on your harvest! You’re receiving this email because you have successfully registered a harvested a deer within the past week and may have submitted a sample for chronic wasting disease (CWD) testing.

If you chose to have your deer tested for CWD, we first want to extend a heartfelt thank you for going the extra mile to help statewide efforts to monitor the disease.

If you haven’t had your adult deer tested yet, it may not be too late. You can still submit your adult deer for testing if the deer’s head has remained cold or frozen since harvest. Find a sampling location near you today.

The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR) uploads CWD results to our website, where hunters can find them as soon as they become available. To view CWD results for a harvested deer, hunters will need to enter a customer ID or CWD sample barcode number.

Due to COVID-19, to protect the health and safety of our staff, test results this year will take approximately 2-3 weeks from the time the deer head or tissue sample is received.

We thank you for your patience and cooperation, and for your commitment to the health of Wisconsin’s deer herd.

Sincerely,

Wisconsin DNR Wildlife Management Program
