Venison Stroganoff Recipe From Lake Of The Woods MN

Venison Stroganoff

    1 1/2 lb boneless venison cut into bite-size pieces
    1 1/2 c sour cream
    4 tsp flour
    1/2 tsp sugar
    4 T cooking oil
    2 (4 oz) cans mushrooms
    2 T prepared mustard
    2 med onions, thinly sliced
    salt and pepper to taste


*Blend sour cream, flour, mustard, salt and pepper. Set aside
*Saute onions and mushrooms in 2 TBS cooking oil. Reduce heat to low, cover and simmer  15 mins. Remove from heat
*Heat remaining oil and brown meat
*Add onions and mushrooms to meat and stir fry 15 mins.
*Add sour cream mixture and simmer 30-45 mins.
*Serve over rice, noodles, or potatoes.
