WalleyeFIRST is covering the weigh in today. We apoligize for posting this so late; we didn’t receive a press relaease.

World Walleye Association and WI Women Fish are proud to present the 1st annual Women’s Walleye Weekend. This is a great opportunity for Women anglers and we have the top female pro’s in the country to help you improve your skills. The weekend’s activity will be held in Winneconne WI, home of the Wolf River and Lake Winneconne. This is a great family destination and with it being Mothers Day weekend, we have activities for the whole family while the Ladies get to fish.

Along with the great clinic topics and learning opportunities, we are offering a tournament. You will get to experience fishing a real tournament just like the pro’s do. Complete with a cash pay out, stage, and many prizes. We specifically chose this location due to the great fishing opportunities but also, because a huge boat is not necessary. All boats and all levels of experience are encouraged to sign up. This is a two person team tournament so grab a friend and sign up. This is an opportunity not only to learn from the pros, but to also experience the excitement of the whole tournament setting, surrounded by a group of friendly and supportive women. If you want to participate and you do not have a partner, we can help match you up with another angler. Sorry guys, no men in the boats. We are also offering hands on instruction on launching and loading so if that is an area that is holding you back, please don’t let that stop you.

The weekend will start with early registration and a meet and greet at Woodeye’s located at 700 W. Main Street Winneconne WI. Here you can meet the pro’s and the other participants. Woodeyes and Critters Wolf River Sports are both at this location and have food, drinks and all the latest gear to fish the Wolf River System. http://www.critterssports.com/

Saturday morning the clinics will begin and in the afternoon you can get out to pre fish. Here is a complete schedule of events. The venue locations are listed. The fee for the clinics only, which includes the dinner is $60 per person. Fee for the tournament and the clinic portion is $110 per person. There will be an 85% cash pay out to the winners in the tournaments. Final number depend on the number of registrations.

Additional Activities in the area:
While the Ladies are fishing in the tournament, we have arranged a Mothers Day Steamboat Cruise for Sunday morning 8:00am-10.00am. The cruise would be a Women’s Walleye Weekend Mothers Day Brunch and would include a 2 hour lake tour, the brunch with coffee, tea, dessert, etc. all for the price of $35.00 per person. They said they would try to drive by as many of our teams fishing the tournament as possible, without getting in their way. We will need to have a minimum of 40 people to attend in order to reserve the Steamboat Cruise.

There is also a very interesting Museum nearby and they will open on Sunday for anyone interested in visiting.
