July 12, 2012  Moorhead, MN-Members of the NPAA & FM Walleyes helped out with the River Keepers youth fishing clinic during the July 10, 2011 River Arts Festival in Moorhead, MN.
The event was a collaborative effort of the Moorhead Park District, River Keepers & FM Walleyes Unlimited.  Participants took part in learning stations during the fishing clinic where participants learned about river safety, “what’s in your tackle box?”, fish identification, live bait, knot tying, netting/landing fish, fish handling and casting .

NPAA/FM Walleyes club members David Randash #29, Chad Maloy #499, Spencer Duetz #552, Barry Chouinard #996 and club member Ron Broby all showed up to help the kids get a taste of fishing on the Red River. River Keepers had over 50 rod and reel combos rigged up and ready to use. All that was left was for the kids to bait the hook and cast the rig out into the river. The kids pulled in a few smallmouth bass and many goldeye during the event which ran from 5:30 to 8:00.
