Forestville, WI-The National Professional Anglers Association announced their rank of supporting partners has grown.  Pat Neu, NPAA executive director said, “We are very proud to welcome Simms as an NPAA Supporting Partner.”

The Montana-based company is well known to fly fishermen, and Diane Bristol, director of marketing and brand management said, “Simms Fishing Products became affiliated with NPAA to make their brand as familiar to non-fly fishermen as it is already to the best fly fisherman in the world.”  The working slogan of Simms reads, “The Choice of Professional Guides Worldwide.”

Simms is respected for quality merchandise including a broad line of waders, footwear (shoes, boots, sandals, wading footwear), outerwear (windproof jackets, rain gear, pants), layering clothing of sweaters, bibs, fleece, next-to-skin base layer technology clothing and technical sportswear.  They also produce women’s waders, jackets, boots, shirts, pants and shorts.  Fishing vests and packs, tackle duffle, gear, boat and dry storage bags, socks, hats and gloves, plus accessories such as boot studs and cleats, rod and reel cases, wallets and fly boxes are part of the Simms company.

Bristol said, “Our staff is largely comprised of committed anglers who understand the importance of quality, dependable fishing gear.”  Simms new products can be under development for multiple years, including the new ProDry™ rain suits that will be introduced at the ICAST show later this summer.  “Our new outerwear, footwear and sportswear have been designed for beginners to avid anglers, and will extend far beyond the fly-fishing market,” she said.

Simms is the only wader manufacturer in the US and one of three worldwide licensed by W.L. Gore and Associates, Inc. to make GORE-TEX® waders.

The entrance into the broader fishing market will be in association with Gore, Bristol said.  Distribution will include Simms specialty tackle dealerships, Bass Pro Shops and Cabela’s.

She said, “Simms will be in contact with many professional NPAA members to introduce the brand and new product line.”  Neu said, “Their product line features angler-designed products to fit the needs of serious anglers and as such they are a perfect fit for our members.” For details, check simmsfishing.com.
