NPAA Members at Tintes Outdoors Volunteers Host ‘Future Angler’ Events

On Saturday, June 20th Tintes Outdoors was at Cabelas in Rogers, MN for the Cabelas Outdoors Days.  Multiple stations were set-up for the kids, Jesse Tintes (NPAA# 846) discussed fishing gear, Derek Tintes (NPAA Future Pro) helped the kids with Fish ID, Josh Lund (NPAA# 654) shared boat/water safety, Adam Horsch (NPAA# 927) reviewed invasive species, Danny Petrie (NPAA# 638) Brandon Malmgren & Austin Tintes entertained the kids with Minnow Races.  Brandi Tintes & Wendy Tintes worked the sign in table and handed out the prizes once each young angler completed all the stations. Jesse Tintes had his Alumacraft Trophy 175 & Josh Lund had his Mountain Dew Lund on hand so the families could get in and check out the impressive rigs.  Danny Petrie, the owner of NW Metro Tackle/Neon Lites jigs donated packs of jigs for each young anglers.  He also provided Tintes Outdoors with additional jig packs for the Future Angler clinics.

The following weekend, Saturday, June 27th Jesse, Jacob, Derek, Adam & Wendy headed to Lake Mille Lacs to put on a NPAA/FAF Kids Clinic at the Full Throttle Fishing Tournament.  This tournament used the Catch, Measure, Photo & Release format. The kids learned about Fish ID, Invasive species, and spent some time racing minnows while everyone waited for the results at Buzzies on the Bay.  All the kids in attendance went home with a new fishing comb from Shakespeare and a hand full of other items.  Jesse was the featured speaker at the rules meeting the night before.  He encouraged all the tournament anglers to host their own NPAA/FAF Future Angler Clinic.

Saturday, July 25th Jesse, Jacob & Derek headed to Gull Lake to host another NPAA/FAF Future Angler Clinic at the Full Throttle Fishing Tournament.  The kids learned about Fish ID, Invasive species, and spent some time racing minnows after the official weigh in and awards ceremony at Ernie’s on Gull. All the kids in attendance went home with a new fishing comb from Shakespeare and a hand full of other items.

Upcoming Tintes Outdoors NPAA/FAF Future Angler Clinic dates include: Friday, July 31st on Lake George with Fishing For Life’s CAST Event and the Anoka County Sheriff’s department, Full Throttle Fishing Tournaments include August 8th on Lake Minnetonka at Center view Park on Harrison Bay and then on August 22nd back on Lake Mille Lacs at Buzzies on the Bay (If the walleyes season is still open – if not a new local will be announced).
