Lund/ Mercury Pro Mike Gofron took the lead with three Pros remaining to weigh in, racking up 21.78 pounds to bump leader Gary Parsons from the number one spot by almost 8 pounds. Todd Riley didn’t have enough weighing a solid 15.96 for a total weight of 58.08, leaving only one Pro able to unseat him, day two leader Brian Keller. Brian needed less than half his tremendous CRR total  of 31.72 from day two to take the win from Mike, who was looking for his fourth major career victory.

Master Of Ceremonies Tommy Skarlis welcomed Pro Brian Keller to the stage and asked about his incredible day two success as Mike Gofron sweated it out waiting to see what Mr. Keller had to offer on the final day of the Akaska AIM tournament.

As Tommy announced the weight Brian needed, Mike was visibly shaken, fairly certain he had taken second in the third AIM event for 2009. As Tommy announced Brian’s weight of 9.05, Mike Gofron stepped up and took the Winner’s trophy with better than a two and a half pound margin.

Mike took home a check for $30,000.00. Mike felt the turning point of the event for him was getting his presentation through the smaller fish today to put a solid 21.78 pounds in the boat.

Fourth place went to Gary Parsons, fifth to Chase Parsons, sixth to Mike McMaken, seventh to David A Andersen, eighth to Mark Martin, ninth to Mark Brumbaugh, Tommy Kemos rounded out the top ten.
