In September in Conjunction with the Koep’s Walleye Challenge,  NPAA Members, Jim Peters #105 and Nancy Koep # 323 put on a kids fishing clinic.

It was a great turn out, even if the rain outside had to move us inside, said Koep.  Both Jim and Nancy talked about many things during the clinic.  The 33 kids in attendance got to hear about boat safety, sportsmanship, identify different fish species, casting techniques, and more.

Koep had a long talk with them regarding invasive species and the importance of removing everything from your boat. Koep also encouraged the kids to look for the weeds, and mentioned all the area lakes that are infested.   Peters then went on to show the kids how to tie a knot, then moved right into

showing them how to rig up their new poles with a slip bobber. ‘The kids were very engaged in watching how to rig up their pole’, said Koep. ‘It’s fun to see the enthusiasm in the kids’. After the clinic was over, each kid was able to walk away with a brand new Shakespeare Combo, NPAA Future Fisherman Shirts, and  NPAA Kids Fishing Books. A Huge thank you goes to the NPAA for supplying all the items for the clinic, said Koep – with out their support it would not have been possible.<table border=”0″ cellspacing=”0″ cellpadding=”0″ width=”250″ align=”right”><tbody><tr><td rowspan=”2″><img src=”https://www.outdoorsfirst.com/walleye/wp-content/uploads/sites/2/2018/07/pix.gif” border=”0″ alt=”” width=”5″ /></td><td><img src=”https://assets.outdoorsfirst.com/images/a_6230_1028132.jpg” border=”0″ alt=”” /></td></tr><tr><td><div class=”caption” align=”left”><strong>Caption Title</strong> (Credits)</div></td></tr></tbody></table>
