Plymouth, WI – April 5, 2011

AIM has partnered with Sam Wood’s Bigtime Bowfishing. Sam holds more than 20 individual state Bowfishing records and five world records. Sam also has several notable firsts including the development of a slingshot specially designed to shoot arrows. He is the first person to use a slingshot to harvest an alligator (500-plus pounds) and a shark (over 10-feet in length.)

Sam’s passion is introducing new people to the sport of Bowfishing. For this reason, he has donated two bowfishing trips that will be available to the participants and fans of the AIM Pro Walleye Series. Bigtime Bowfishing is one of Wisconsin’s only four-season bowfishing guide services. Four seasons include spring, summer, fall, and winter. Wisconsin only requires a fishing license to bowfish and there is no limit on the rough fish (carp, gar, buffalo and many others) you can take. In fact, the harvest of rough fish is encouraged.

During your Wisconsin bowfishing adventure with Bigtime Bowfishing you can use your own equipment or Sam will provide top-of-the-line equipment for you. Day bowfishing trips start mid morning and last until mid afternoon. Night bowfishing is something everybody should try. The shots are close, and the action is sometimes overwhelming. Your trip will start at dark and will go till you have had enough. Bigtime Bowfishing will also provide a combo trip where they start during the afternoon, take a short break, and then continue bowfishing into the night.

All bowfishing trips are for up to three people and typically include four to six hours of shooting. In the event that bad weather keeps you off the water, your trip will be rescheduled for a later date. Two bowfishing trips will be available on a “silent auction” basis until Day Three of the AIM Pro Walleye Series tournament in Winneconne. Each trip is valued at $300. The winning bids will be announced at the Day Three weigh-in.

Sam Wood will be onsite at the weigh-in location in Winneconne (located at Critters Sports) to demonstrate bowfishing equipment. Sam will also display his specially-designed bowfishing boat which is a custom-built, fish-killing machine. It is 20 ft long and 8 ft wide which makes it very stable.  For night shooting, 500 watt lights illuminate the water allowing you to see the many fish cruising the shallows. The boat is also equipped with a 30hp, 60 inch fan to propel it through the shallows and weed flats.

Bids for each guided bowfishing trip will be accepted by email to [email protected] or telephone to the AIM office by calling 920-526-3399. Bids will also be accepted onsite at the Winneconne, WI (April 20-22) tournament. Bidding starts at half price, that is, only $150.00 per trip. Bids must be secured with a credit card number – but no charges will apply until the end of the bidding. Progress on the bidding will be posted online in a special section of the AIM forums.
