Two fishermen fall through ice into Lake St. Clair

Two ice fishermen fell through thawing ice into Lake St. Clair on Thursday afternoon, but both were rescued after climbing out of the frigid water.

Harrison Township fire crews received a 911 call about 3:55 p.m. that indicated the men went through the ice, according to fire Battalion Chief Mark Hoskins.

Three separate fire crews encountered dense fog conditions as they went out on to the ice to search for the men, who were about a quarter mile away from the shore.
