ASHLAND CITY, TENNESSEE – Thousands of weekend bass fishermen dream about one day “turning pro” and fishing in a big-money tournament alongside their competitive angling heroes. Triton boat owner Marcus Sykora of Osage Beach, Missouri is about to make that dream a reality when he competes for $500,000 — the bass fishing world’s biggest prize — in the upcoming FLW Forrest Wood Cup championship bass tournament, slated for August 14-17 at Lake Murray South Carolina.

Sykora, 37, earned his berth in one of professional bass fishing’s most prestigious events by winning the $100,000 FLW BFL All-American bass tournament at Wilson Lake, Alabama in June. He has amassed a total of 22 top 10 finishes and eight first place finishes in BFL Series tournaments, plus two top 10’s in the Rayovac FLW Series Central Division. “For a guy like me that started out at the grassroots level fishing local weekend pot tournaments, actually being able to compete in the FLW Forrest Wood Cup is a dream come true,” Sykora said. He credits his Triton 21 TrX bass boat with helping him achieve that dream. “My Triton has the perfect combination of fishability, storage capability, high performance, and riding comfort in all water conditions,” he indicated. “The huge casting decks and incredible stability of this boat make it nearly effortless to fish from, whether I’m cranking a deep reservoir point or flipping a grass bed. Having total confidence in my Triton boat allows me to focus 100% on my game plan and presentations, with zero distractions.”

“Marcus Sykora exemplifies the heights that it’s possible for a weekend bass angler to attain,” noted Triton founder Earl Bentz. “Like hundreds of other Triton owners, he’s a busy working man (Sykora owns an insurance agency) and a dedicated family man besides being an avid bass fisherman, and he obviously knows how to balance all three of these important aspects of his life. Marcus has also been one of our biggest Triton Gold tournament incentive program money winners over the years, and it will be a pleasure to watch him compete for the largest cash prize in professional bass fishing at the Forrest Wood Cup.”

Triton manufactures a complete line of premium fiberglass and aluminum fishing boats for both professional tournament anglers and weekend fishermen.
