Cullen’s Children Foundation Lure Making Event a Success

July 15, 2012 Fargo, ND- Members of the NPAA & FM Walleyes held a youth fishing event in Fargo, ND, during the Cullen’s Children Foundation (Cully’s Kids) annual picnic on July 14th, 2012. The Cullen Children’s Foundation was started by Moorhead, MN native and NHL Minnesota Wild star Matt Cullen. The foundation’s mission is to provide financial resources to organizations that support children’s healthcare needs, with an emphasis on cancer.

The fishing event was organized by NPAA/FM Walleye club member Spencer Deutz #552. Spencer, along with NPAA/FM Walleyes club member Chad Maloy #499 and Ron Deutz taught over 50 children how to  how to tie a single hook spinner rig. Each participant was given a bag that consisted of a hook, three feet of line, 5 beads a spinner blade and a crane swivel.  They each made their own spinner rig and were give a pack of Northland Fishing Tackle’s reactionary Impulse leeches. The event ran from 11am-1pm at Newman Outdoor Field in Fargo, ND.
