Bass Pro Shops expands Old Hickory qualifier on 9-11

Old Hickory Lake Hosts Bass Pro Shops US Open Regional Qualifying Event & Fan Village on September 11

Event will mark the 20th anniversary of Sept. 11, 2001 and pay tribute to our heroic military members, veterans and first responders.

The path to the Bass Pro Shops U.S. Open National Bass Fishing Amateur Team Championships – a first-of-its-kind amateur fishing tournament offering the biggest payout in freshwater fishing history – continues at Old Hickory Lake on September 11. With proceeds benefiting fisheries conservation and the future of fishing, the fan-friendly event is a true celebration of bass fishing being held exclusively for amateur anglers with a guaranteed purse value of $4.3 million. The top 40 anglers in the Old Hickory Lake event will advance to the National Championship on Table Rock Lake and a shot at the $1 million prize.

While anglers are competing on the water, the general public is invited to participate in the excitement taking place at Sanders Ferry Park in Hendersonville, Tenn. with free activities for the whole family beginning at 12 noon CT.

Patriotic 9/11 Tributes & Memorials: Marking the 20th anniversary of September 11, 2001, the event will pay tribute to heroic military members, veterans, and first responders. The event will feature patriotic music and tributes, including the “Remembering Our Fallen” photographic war memorial.

 

Free Kids Activities & Live Music: Free interactive games, inflatable slides, and more will create a family-friendly atmosphere for fishing fans of all ages to enjoy. The Petersens, an American bluegrass band from Missouri’s Ozark Mountains, will take center stage to provide live music and entertainment throughout the day.

Celebrity Guests & Award Ceremony: Hosted by legendary angler Roland Martin, the tournament weigh-in will begin at 3 p.m. CT. Competitors will arrive at the weigh-in site in waves throughout the afternoon and are invited to stay for the final award ceremony at approx. 5 p.m. CT.

Toyota Test Drives: Fans can test drive the latest Toyota trucks and SUVs. Participants must be 18 years of age or older.

Boat & ATV Displays: Fans can view on-site displays of boat models from America’s foremost boat brands including Tracker, Ranger, Nitro and more, as well as the best-in-class ATVs from TRACKER OFF ROAD.

 

Outdoor Activities for the Whole Family: Guests can learn about fisheries conservation with representatives from the National Fish Habitat Partnership along with food, displays from Black Rifle Coffee, Columbia Sportswear, Monster Energy, and Under Armour, as well as other special activities. Enjoy a Bass Pro Shops pop-up shop featuring exclusive merchandise and the latest gear from top outdoor brands.
