Association of Collegiate Anglers Adds New Event at Lake Murray, SC to 2020 Schedule

San Antonio, TX (January 7, 2020) – The Association of Collegiate Anglers (ACA) and Bass Pro Shops Collegiate Bass Fishing Series are proud to announce their newest event for the summer of 2020. In partnership with Capital City/Lake Murray Country, the ACA run event will be held on Lake Murray in South Carolina. This will be a two-day event with tournament competition taking place June 11-12, 2020.

“This is a very exciting time to be a part of college fishing and this event on Lake Murray in South Carolina will add to our series of major events that we operate. For me personally, I’m excited about this event as it’s one that collegiate anglers won’t want to miss as it will provide a direct path to college fishing’s longest-running major Championship, the 2021 BoatUS Collegiate Bass Fishing Championship presented by Bass Pro Shops. We will be announcing new details on this event in the coming months as we grow our series and the opportunities it provides collegiate anglers,” said Wade Middleton, Director of the Association of Collegiate Anglers.

Lake Murray will play host to a two-day big bass format event that will count towards the 2020-2021 Bass Pro Shops School of the Year presented by Abu Garcia. Big bass format events are an angler favorite on the Bass Pro Shops Collegiate Bass Fishing Series. College anglers will have multiple opportunities over the course of two days to win their share of more than $15,000 in prizes and contingencies.

The official launch site and weigh-ins will be Dreher Island State Park.

“We are excited to support the Bass Pro Shops Collegiate Bass Fishing Series and welcome them to Lake Murray and our region,” said Miriam Atria, President/CEO of Capital City/Lake Murray Country RTB. “Our community is uniquely qualified to host these events at our world class fishery. It is vital to the future of the fishing industry and to outdoor recreation to offer these types of events to students to ensure the growth of the industry.”
