SPRO to Attend the 52nd Annual Bassmaster Classic in Greenville, South Carolina

Kennesaw, GA (February 28, 2022) – SPRO will attend the 52nd annual Bassmaster Classic, the world’s most prestigious professional bass tournament, in Greenville, South Carolina with competition on nearby Lake Hartwell.

The 2022 Academy Sports + Outdoors Bassmaster Classic presented by Huk will be held for the fourth time at scenic Lake Hartwell, March 4-6, with takeoffs from Green Pond Landing & Event Center in Anderson, S.C. The 56,000-acre man-made reservoir situated between Georgia and South Carolina and encompassing portions of the Savannah, Tugaloo and Seneca rivers is known for an array of habitats and large populations of both largemouth and spotted bass.

The qualifying anglers will compete for three days on Lake Hartwell for the oldest championship in professional bass fishing. SPRO’s anglers that will be fishing the tournament include Bryan Schmitt, Bryan New, Caleb Summerall, Chris Johnston, Cory Johnston, Drew Cook, John Crews, Kyle Welcher, and Marc Fraizer. Daily weigh-ins will be held at the Bon Secours Wellness Arena, and the annual Bassmaster Classic Outdoors Expo presented by Marathon will take place at the Greenville Convention Center, both of which are in nearby Greenville. Lake Hartwell provides the perfect site for fantastic competition. The city of Greenville offers the hotels, restaurants and other facilities you need for an event the size of the Classic.

Downtown Greenville will be on full display for the Classic, hosted locally by Visit Anderson and VisitGreenvilleSC. Outdoors enthusiasts can browse the Bassmaster Classic Outdoors Expo at the Greenville Convention Center before taking in daily weigh-in festivities at nearby Bon Secours Wellness Arena.
