Correct Craft acquires Bass Cat, Yar-Craft

Correct Craft said Tuesday that it is entering the bass and walleye fishing markets with the acquisition of Bass Cat and Yar-Craft.
Correct Craft said it has no plans to change the location or the management teams of the companies it is acquiring. Bass Cat bass-fishing boats and Yar-Craft walleye-fishing boats are built in Mountain Home, Ark.
Correct Craft said Bass Cat led the marine industry in quality during the years that J.D. Power and Associates reported on the industry and said Bass Cat and Yar-Craft have outstanding product and customer service reputations.
“After over four decades of being owned and operated by our family, we are pleased to secure our heritage with Correct Craft,” Bass Cat president Rick Pierce said in a statement.
“Dad and I have had a blast together and now we turn the page on history. The decision is one to extend what Dad and Mom (Ron and Jan Pierce) started with their legacy,” he said. “By joining the Correct Craft family, Bass Cat and Yar-Craft will live well beyond our lifetimes. I look forward to where we are going to carry the brands.”
Correct Craft is the parent company of the Nautique Boat Co., engine manufacturer Pleasurecraft Marine and Aktion Parks, which owns and operates the Miami Watersports Complex and the Orlando Watersports Complex, one of the first cable wakeboard parks in the country.
“Bass Cat and Yar-Craft are both outstanding brands with great reputations and exceptional teams,” Correct Craft president and CEO Bill Yeargin said. “We could not be happier to have them joining the Correct Craft family.”
