(July 16, 2020) – Minn Kota® took home the title in the “Best Boating Accessories” category yesterday at the International Convention of Allied Sportfishing Trades (ICAST) thanks to its newly released Raptor™ shallow water anchor. Raptor was voted “Best Boating Accessories” by media and buyers during the American Sportfishing Association’s 2020 Virtual ICAST and New Product Showcase.
Raptor is an exciting new addition to the company’s line of products designed to maximize boat control in any condition. Entering the shallow water anchor market in 2011 with its Talon product Minn Kota quickly became a leader in the category. Hydraulic anchoring systems currently on the market have lacked the ability to adapt to changing conditions on the water. Once anchored, waves, current, tide changes and different bottom compositions can negatively affect the anchors’ ability to hold a boat in place. Raptor is the only shallow water anchor to feature Active Anchoring™ and Auto-Bottom Mode™, which enable these shallow-water anchors to automatically monitor the water and bottom conditions to keep the boat anchored firmly in place no matter what the fishing situation.
