Winter Trails Day is an annual winter festival at Fort Snelling State Park where people of all ages can discover an activity that transforms their winter in to a season of joy.

All equipment will be provided, with outdoor enthusiasts on hand for demonstrations and assistance.

Make sure to take a break and enjoy a cup of complimentary hot coco in between activities and stop by The Weenie Wagon for some snacks and hot drinks (including gluten free / vegan / vegetarian options).

We recommend dressing for the weather and bringing a water bottle! Dogs are welcome and must be on a leash no longer than 6 feet and under control at all times. Please pick up after your pets 🙂

The event is happening snow or shine, so bundle up and join us for this great Minnesota winter get together.

This event is free and open to everyone, however vehicles require a Minnesota State Park permit; $7 for the day or $35 for the year.

Winter Trails Day is a made possible by a partnership between Minnesota Department of Natural Resources, REI, Mississippi National River and Recreation Area, Northern Star Base Camp, Mississippi Park Connection, Wilderness Inquiry, The Loppet Foundation, and the U.S. Forest Service.
