Young Man Stalks His First Whitetail

My oldest son Cole and I stalk a buck on public land. We were picking up a few of the blinds before the next heavy snow storm hit and Cole spotted a deer a couple hundred yards away. I worked my way toward the deer and saw that it was a buck and waited till the deer bedded down then backed out and went and got Cole. This is Cole’s first attempt at stalking and he did great. We had a few periods where the deer stared us down for over twenty minutes at a time from Cole moving just a bit to much but after a couple of those he learned to be very still when the deer looked our way….. We had a long sit before he got a clear shot. Super impressed he was able to deal with his feet falling asleep, arms feeling like they were gonna fall off from holding the rifle at the ready for so long, and being able to be so still for long periods. He will be stalking deer with a bow before you know it. A hunt to remember for the rest of my life for sure! Video shot with a SiOnyx AURORA Camera
