Ok, while many of us have our favorite scent set strategies’ for our respective archery seasons, too often we use it again during the firearm season without taking advantage of what firearms provide, distance, distance, distance.

Seasons ago a wise man (my grandfather) taught me that if during the long gun season I made my scent sets 40 to 60 yards upwind from my stand I can increase my opportunities.

Here’s why;
• Your line of sight and angle opportunities are far greater
• Changing wind thermals have a lessened effect on your location
• Freedom of undetected motion as you prepare for your shot
• When that mature buck downwind scent checks your set he’s in your wheelhouse focused away from you

Fresh Scent is ALWAYS BEST…

Dave from IL with another 2012 Whitetail

Chip,

This deer came 200 yards in my pasture looking for a doe, the doe was a scent wick with Doe To Door. The deer was shot Nov 3rd in Tennessee with a muzzle loader. I have attached a picture (above cam photo) of the buck I am looking for.
