A short and stiff action rod is invaluable for vertical jigging in rivers. Using your wrist to provide the jig action is the most efficient way of vertical jigging. The Daiwa RG series us the ideal rod for walleye vertical jigging applications. A somewhat shorter and stiffer rod is important because the added stiffness helps to telegraph light strikes. This rod is best matched up with a lightweight spinning reel and 10 pound test super braid.
