Warrior Boats, Inc., of Melrose MN., is back and wants every fishing enthusiast to know it.
To help spread the word, Brett King, the 2011 J.J. Keller Fishing Team AIM Angler Of The Year and Warrior are proud to announce a joint promotional agreement.

For the 2012 tournament season, King, from Claremont, MN., will campaign a new Warrior V 203 DC Eagle, powered by a 250-horsepower Mercury Verado. King’s homeport will be Southside Marine of Waseca, MN, Warrior’s second oldest dealer.

“We are elated to have Brett King associated with Warrior,” said Kent Andersen, Warrior national sales manager. “Having Brett aboard to promote the brand and provide on-water advice will help make our great boats even better for the anglers we build them for.”

Warrior Boats was purchased by four avid anglers in 2011 with the goal of providing the best fishing platforms in the industry, Andersen said. “This is a company owned by fishermen, and its boats are built by hard-core anglers who know what their fellow anglers need in a boat already known for its ability to handle rough weather,” Andersen added.

“I am very excited and proud to represent Warrior Boats in 2012 and beyond,” King said. “The Warrior name symbolizes the highest quality in fiberglass walleye boats. Warrior is well known for tiller boat models like the V1890BT and V2090BT.

“I came on board to help spread the word that Warrior console boats are awesome as well and offer great features. Like the tiller models, they also have great ability to handle the nasty waters we walleye anglers love to fish,” King continued.

Warrior is also known for its angler-friendly interior design, and the smart trolling keel offers exceptional tracking and drifting capability that is second to none, he said.

“Being with Warrior has me beaming with excitement. Let’s just say it’s gonna be a long hard-water season (winter) waiting to get after it in my new Warrior,” King added. King’s boat will be a 20-foot-three-inch walk-through dual console model.

Neal Schauer of Southside Marine said the marina is also proud to renew its association with Warrior and help King represent the line both on the water and at events including the upcoming Minneapolis Boat Show, Jan. 19-22 at the Minneapolis Convention Center.

We opened Southside in 1996 and started carrying Warrior Boats one year later. I’m looking forward to working with Warrior again and with Brett, whom I’ve known for years. He’s a consummate professional and a real down-to-earth guy,” Schauer said.

“I also can’t say enough about Neal and crew from Southside Marine,” King added. “They have welcomed me with open arms and I am anxious to do what I can to help them sell Warrior boats. While my tournament plans are not yet finalized for 2012, I’m sure my new V203 will get some miles on it throughout the Midwest. Look me up if you see me I’ll be glad to take you for a spin to show you first-hand why it’s a Warrior for me.”
