Stier Wins St Mary’s River PWT

Stier: On Top at the Soo

Pro Dan Stier lead two out of three days to win the 2008 PWT Regional on the St Mary's River in Sault Ste Marie, MI. Stier's three day total topped the scales at 61.04 pounds. To slow down his presentation, Stier was jigging heavy crawler-tipped jigs in current seams for the win.

Much larger-than-expected weights showed up at the scales, topping pre-tournament predictions by 15 to 20 pounds.

Mike Gofron finished second with a three-day total of 58.84 lbs.Gofron was fishing the same general area as Stier. 

Local Pro Jason Doyon finished third with 57.37 lbs. 

Jim Carroll charged up the scales, weighing 22.27 lbs on the final day for a total weight of 54.36 lbs and fourth place.
