Perry Good and other Super Pro’s – ready to roll at Chamberlain

All the talk and all the hype can be tossed out the window. Now, it’s time for action. And, that’s what will occur at the Berkley/Lund Pro-Am at Chamberlain, SD, beginning May 10. After three days of intense In-Fisherman Professional Walleye Trail competition, the first Super Pro Champion of 2006 will be crowned. The top pros in every walleye ranking system will be in Chamberlain. They’ve won the most top 10 place finishes and the most money. They’ve fished the most Mercury Championships and are the most recognized walleye pro anglers on the planet. Leading the list is Perry Good, the Number One ranked PWT angler. He is followed closely by Mike Gofron, the 2005 Johnsonville Angler of the Year and Keith Kavajecz, a past PWT Champion.Other names in the top 10 include Gary Parsons, Ron Seelhoff, Mark Martin (a past winner at Chamberlain), Rick Olson, Dan Stier, Mark Brumbaugh and Dan Plautz. Both Olson and Stier are South Dakota residents (Mina and Pierre). Collectively, these 10 pros represent 25 PWT victories.A total of 60 Super Pros (see their photos and bios on the PWT website) will fish. They will be joined by amateurs/co-anglers who will partner with them to learn about walleye fishing, spots to fish, tactics, electronics and boat control. A few amateur openings still remain. To enter, call PWT at 218-829-0620. The PWT web is www.professionalwalleyetrail.com. The daily weigh-in and stage ceremonies begin at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, May 10-12. Adjacent to the stage, the PWT Outdoor Festival will take place beginning at 1 p.m. each day. The Festival includes the crowd-favorite Dock Dogs, a rock-climbing wall, a catfish tank, an Outdoor Channel TV “Host your own TV show” for youngsters, and an air rifle shooting gallery. These events begin at 1 p.m. daily and are free of charge – as are the stage ceremonies. All events occur at Cedar Shore Resort on the banks of the Missouri River. Anglers will fish from the Big Bend Dam downstream into Lake Francis Case to the Highway 44 bridge. A key to the PWT format is that pros share what they learn with walleye fans at the weigh-in festivities, and on the final Friday they tell the secrets they have discovered. The PWT is an integral element of the In-Fisherman Communications Network headquartered in Brainerd, Minnesota, and PRIMEDIA, America’s leading producer of targeted media.
