Brooklyn Center, MN – This month Stop Aquatic Hitchhikers! (SAH!) is pleased to announce Pat Neu from the National Professional Anglers Association (NPAA), as the December “Partner in Action.” As Executive Director of the NPAA, Pat has been instrumental in helping coordinate the education of thousands of anglers about aquatic invasive species and invasive species prevention.

The NPAA is a leading non-profit organization that works with professional anglers to grow the sport of fishing. Their members consist of fishing guides, charter captains and tournament anglers that all have the ability to help spread the Stop Aquatic Hitchhikers! Clean, Crain, Dry message. Hosting youth fishing clinics at each NPAA sanctioned event, anglers also educate youth on AIS prevention by demonstrating how to identify AIS and properly clean fishing equipment.

“Pat and the NPAA have been invaluable in reaching out to anglers all across the Midwest. This community is very passionate about keeping our lakes and rivers free of aquatic invasive species. We are very grateful to have them engaged with the Stop Aquatic Hitchhiker! campaign.” said Pat Conzemius, Conservation Director of Wildlife Forever.

The NPAA is hosting their annual conference next month in Bloomington, MN and will spotlight aquatic invasive species and how their members need to help play a role in preventing aquatic invasive species.

Stop Aquatic Hitchhikers! is the internationally recognized public service campaign for the prevention of invasive species. Thousands of agencies, organizations, and groups have signed on to support partnerships efforts in raising awareness through consistent marketing, messaging and outreach.
