Forestville, WI- More and more tackle and marine industry-leading companies are joining the ranks of National Professional Anglers Association supporters.  “Skeeter has recognized our effort to grow the sport of fishing and we look forward to working with their team to continue this vital effort,” said Pat Neu, NPAA Executive Director.

Echoing those sentiments was Ben Jarrett, Director of Sales and Marketing for Skeeter.  He said, “Joining with a tremendous group of Supporting Partners gives Skeeter a chance to participate with our industry colleagues and add to the great NPAA foundation.  The collective voice of anglers and Supporting Partners can help steer the NPAA mission.  We’re proud to join.”

Skeeter was founded in 1948, and has been recognized by the Bass Fishing Hall of Fame as “Founder of the Original Bass Boat.”  In 1996 Yamaha Motor Corp. acquired Skeeter, which builds 25 models, including bass boats, saltwater bay boats, multispecies boats, deep-v boats and fish ‘n ski boats.

Over the past decade Skeeter increased models to appeal to anglers across the country.  An all-new line of multispecies boats (called the MX series) compliments the popular deep-v fishing boats (WX series).  Jarrett said, “The MX and WX series deliver performance and boat control when trolling, drifting, casting a weed-edge, working a break line or battling the elements.  We listen to our regional customers and deliver innovative boat designs that meet their needs.”  The company’s most recent launch is the FX series of bass boats designed in conjunction with the new Yamaha SHO VMAX outboards.

Skeeter’s new web site, skeetermultispeciesboats.com, highlights the MX and WX boats dedicated to northern anglers.  Skeeter demo tours have taken 15,000 anglers on test rides in the past three years.  Check out Yamaha-motor.com/outboard/vmax_micro/testdrive, for upcoming dates.

Other news, including stories from the annual conference is being shared on the NPAA website.
