Under blue skies and summer like temperatures today the annual Minn Aqua Kids Fishing Day in Thief River Falls, Minn was held  on the banks of the Thief and Red Lake rivers.  75 kids ranging in age from 6 to 11 years of age were in attendance to learn about many areas of our favorite outdoor activity.  Instruction was provided in the following areas, Boat Safety, Fish Identification, Knot Tying and Casting, Aquatic plant indentification and invasive species, Fish Painting and at the end of the day the kids did some actual fishing from shore to practice what they had learned. After well rounded sack lunches, prizes were handed out to every kid in attendance.

This event has been held annually for many years in Thief River Falls.  Northern Minnesotans love to fish and hunt and with two beautiful rivers flowing right through town, a fish filled training ground for these young people to hone their talents is close at hand.

NPAA Members Brian Holmer and Curt Quesnell pitched in to teach at the Knot Tying-Casting station and helped hand out prizes which included NPAA Future Angler T-shirts and Water bottles.
