NPAA members Brent Long #109, Charles Brant #122, and Doug Yohe #894 hosted a Future Angler Event at the MWC event in Bradford, Pa on July 11th. The kids learned about water safety and then learned the basics of casting both open and closed faced reels.

They also learned how to tie both the Palomar and clinch knots, the different species of fish that could be found in the local waters and what they might eat. The kids learned how to use some artificial baits in place of nightcrawlers or minnows before discussing the spread of AIS and how they can help to control the transferring of marine plants, bait, or fish from one body of water to another.

Fifty kids received rods, Future Angler shirts and a fishing basics book supplied by The Future Anglers Foundation and the NPAA.
