Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
On August 2nd, National Professional Anglers Association members Gary Speicher (#128), Mike Cira (#195) and Steve Miller (#581) hosted a variety of “how-to” seminars and conducted a “Kids Casting Clinic” at the 12th Annual Fish-O-Rama event sponsored by the Boys & Girls Clubs of Cedar Rapids.

Over 1,600 participants spent 2 days fishing for tagged fish in Robins Lake to win prizes including a grand prize of a new Toyota Tundra.  A variety of events are held in conjunction with Iowa’s largest charitable fisheree including the seminars by the NPAA pros.  However, it was the “Kid’s Casting Clinic and Contest” that stole the show this year.

Over 100 participants cast to targets to win prizes from sponsors Pure Fishing/Berkley, JB Lures and Palo Outdoors.  Everybody was a winner with free food coupons provided by various local restaurants.

Fish-O-Rama is the largest fund raising event for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Cedar Rapids and with this year’s success the event has now raised in excess of $1,000,000.00 for the clubs mission and programs.  The event’s chairperson and ringmaster is NPAA member Dave Nichols (#153)
