Jess Schilling – Fired up on Day One

The Missouri River once again proved why it's one of the best fisheries in the country. With 101 of 104 boats coming to the scale with a five fish limit, fish were plentiful on Day One of the Berkley/Lowrance pro-am.

Two-thirds of the field caught there fish contour trolling with leadcore and crankbaits. Rookie pro Aaron Deal came to the scale with that five fish limit weighing in at 19.22 lbs.

Hall of Fame fisherman Mike McClelland, in his first appearance in over two years on the tournament circuit, made a strong showing on his home waters with a total weight of 17.76 lbs.

Lee Pulse is holding down third place with 16.47 lbs. Fourth place is Mark Martin with 16lbs-25oz.

Fifth place is being held by local favorite and long time resident of Akaska, South Dakota, Jess Schilling, with a Day 1 weight of 16.4 lbs.

Stay tuned for more Lund Boats coverage including daily reports, images, video and live audio throughout the event.
