MOUNTAIN HOME, Ark. (May 3, 2013) – The new Cabela’s National Walleye Tour (NWT) continues to add to an impressive list of sponsors with the recent addition of Jimmy John’s Gourmet Sandwiches. The popular sandwich chain joins a growing list of supporters committed to the all-new professional walleye circuit as it heads towards its second event of the 2013 season, scheduled for June 14-15 at Port Clinton, Ohio on Lake Erie. As part of the agreement, the NWT angler bringing the heaviest overall catch to the first day’s weigh-in will earn the “Jimmy John’s Freaky Good Catch of the Day” title and receive a special Jimmy John’s fish bag to use at the second day’s weigh-in.

“We’re thrilled to have the support of a brand like Jimmy John’s,” said Anthony Wright, tournament director. “They’ve got a tremendous organization and are known for unsurpassed quality. Combine that with their passion for fishing and it’s a partnership we’re really excited about. We’re looking forward to a big year in 2013.”

Headquartered in Champaign, Ill., Jimmy John’s was founded in 1983 by Jimmy John Liautaud. The operation began in a small garage in Charleston, Ill. and grew steadily from there. With an emphasis on fresh, quality ingredients, Jimmy John’s quickly became the benchmark of the sandwich industry. The franchise now has over 1600 locations across the country.

“This partnership with the National Walleye Tour is a perfect fit for our organization. This is a very efficient way to allocate advertising dollars, and as an angler myself, it’s exciting to be a part of,” said Jimmy John’s Founder Jimmy John Liautuad. “My sandwiches are a perfect match for anglers and outdoorsmen. I’m jazzed about the upcoming season and the opportunity to interact with so many current and potential customers.”

The NWT website is currently accepting registrations for all remaining 2013 events on-line. The website offers numerous details on the circuit; including official rules, tournament structure, payout and incentives.

Each NWT event features over 100% payback. A fully rigged Ranger Boat, plus cash, is guaranteed for first place at each event – a total value of $57,000. Anglers that fish all three regular season events, in addition to the top points leaders, will qualify for the three day, entry-fee championship.

The new circuit also includes unprecedented television and media coverage, allowing a national audience to watch the action unfold from each event throughout the season. Airing on multiple networks, the National Walleye Tour will be seen on the World Fishing Network, Pursuit Channel, as well as the new NBC Sports Network.
