Mississippi River cartography is ever changing through man made changes such as dredging and natural causes like seasonal floods. This summer Navionics is looking for your assistance to log sonar using the Navionics SonarChartsTM program to generate updated charts that reflect the significant shoreline and bathymetric changes. Remapping the Mississippi River is part of Navionics mission to offer the most accurate charting available.

During the project Navionics representative Kirt Hedquist will assist in instructing how to collect sonar logs, supplying and collecting SD cards. The sonar logs collected will be uploaded to Navionics.com and integrated into the SonarCharts™ layer within several Navionics products. Boaters are invited to continue recording sonar logs throughout the season sending updates to Navionics to help contribute to Mississippi River remapping.

About Mississippi Walleye Club

To provide members a venue to share their interest in the sport of walleye fishing, to support the preservation of our natural resources and to enhance the fisheries of the upper Mississippi River system. We strive to cooperate and work with the DNR in appropriate fisheries management. Also helping kids get interested in and have a good fishing experience is part of the mission of the club.
We strive to provide the opportunity for the membership to become better acquainted with walleye fishing techniques. We hope to share our passion for fishing with our fellow club members, and share it with others that do not have a parent to take them fishing. The Mississippi Walleye Club has been in existence since 1983. Our members come from all walks of life through out the Iowa – Wisconsin – Illinois area.
