Jarrad Fluekiger broke the single day AIM record on day two to carry a near 21 pound lead into the final day, and was the odds on favorite for near everyone except John Kolinski. In a morning day three interview, John said, ” I’m not giving up.”John had his best day of the tournament, and CRR’d 37.93 pounds to take the lead. MC Gary Parsons asked John to stay on the stage as Jarrad told his day three story.

The Top Nine at Saginaw Bay

The bite Fluekiger was so successful with was an odd one. He was keying on a group of walleyes that were apparently avoiding a giant dredge that was working the area by leaving the channel and moving into less that two feet of water. He was jigging in that shallow water and literally pounding the fish…until this morning. The dredge wasn’t at work today, and his shallow bite was off. It was obvious it would be very close as the weight conversions were read to the fans at the weigh in and on the Internet, and very close it was.Jarrad had just over one pound more than enough to take his first major tournament win and cash a check for $30,000.00. His emotional win was wire cast LIVE on the World Wide Web on www.aimfishing.com, www.walleyefirst.com, and www.thenextbite.com.John Kolinski took second with his big day three weight, taking home a check for $10,000.00. Keith Kavajecz was in third, worth $8,000.00, Chad Schilling continued his hot streak with a fourth place finish netting him $5,500.00, and Brandon Carpenter took fifth and a check for $4500.00.Jim Carroll took sixth and a check for $4,000.00, Joe Okada took seventh for $3,700.00, Robert Blosser finished the Bay City AIM tournament in eighth cashing a check for $3,300.00, Rich Boggs in ninth for $3000.00 and Tom Gatzke finished just out of the money rounding out the top ten.Anglers Insight Marketing moves to Brimley, Michigan next for a special event.
