Hughes and Forbes victorious in The Boat Doc Walleye Invitationals

On a sunny and comfortable Sunday morning in Oshkosh Wisconsin, the stage was set for the 62 team field to compete in event #2 of The Boat Doc Walleye Invitationals presented by the Bago Walleye Club (BWC). Teams launched their boats out of Millers Bay in Menominee Park and made their way to fishing hot spots throughout the vast and walleye plentiful Lake Winnebago System.

All the teams returned to Millers Bay to weigh-in their potential winning 5 fish possible total weights. When it was all said and done, the team of Jim Hughes and Jim Forbes of Oshkosh, Wisconsin took home first place honors with a weight of 23.71 lbs earning them the top prize of $2,450.00. Rounding out the top 5 teams were 2nd place Matt Prey and Travis Nelson..21.32 lbs , 3rd place Wayne Gregor and Dale Boeck..20.63 lbs, 4th place Mike Feurig and Justin Stingle..17.45 lbs, 5th place Larry Rising and Glenn Rising..16.84 lbs. The Big fish winners really turned some heads when they came to the stage. The team of Matt Prey and Travis Nelson held up to the crowd a very lively 8.44 lb monster walleye. 2nd place went to the team of Jim Hughes and Jim Forbes with a dandy 6.14 lb as well. Also many other certificates and prizes were awarded to tournament teams from a very generous sponsorship list of the series. The Bago Walleye Club would like to take a moment and thank them for their involvement and continued support. Triton Boats , Mercury Marine, The Boat Doc, Big Eyes Custom Lures, Critters Sport Shop, Kiel Bait and Gun, Johnsonville Sausage, Sargento Cheese, Wendt’s On The Lake Supper Club, Blanck’s Lake Aire Supper Club, Woodeye’s Bar and Grill, Fat Boys Bar and Grill, and Alltitude Roofing .

The 3rd event of the series will take place July 8, 2012 again out of Menominee Park in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. A $150.00 entry fee is the cost for this tournament and will be open to the first 65 teams that sign up one week before July 8, 2012.
