AVIKUS NEUBOAT CONTROL RECEIVES 2026 MIAMI INTERNATIONAL BOAT SHOW INNOVATION AWARD
Seoul, South Korea – Avikus, HD Hyundai’s specialized Autonomous Navigation Technology subsidiary, announced today its newest evolution in its NEUBOAT autonomous vessel system, NEUBOAT Control, has been awarded the 2026 Miami International Boat Show Innovation Award in the Propulsion Equipment & Parts category.
Organized by the National Marine Manufacturers Association (NMMA) and judged by members of Boating Writers International (BWI), the awards recognize innovative distinction from other boats and products currently being manufactured, benefit to the marine industry and consumers, practicality and cost-effectiveness. The awards were announced during the Discover Boating® Miami International Boat Show’s Industry Breakfast held at the Miami Beach Convention Center on February 12, 2026.
NEUBOAT Control enables the vessel autonomy features of Avikus’ award-winning autonomous vessel systems including NEUBOAT Dock and NEUBOAT Navi, and provides the interface required for smart navigation and auto-docking features. NEUBOAT Control’s SMART AUTOPILOT and SMART DOCKING make every maneuver smooth and effortless. With its ability to seamlessly integrate with existing systems and user-friendly interface, NEUBOAT Control ensures a comprehensive and cohesive boating experience, enhancing safety, efficiency, and enjoyment on the water.
“We’re extremely grateful to the NMMA, BWI and the judges for selecting Avikus’ NEUBOAT Control for this prestigious award,” said Michell Hur, Project Manager/Specialist at Avikus. “Years of engineering and testing within our NEUBOAT technologies led to the revolutionary Control system. We know that boaters will feel more confident and safer on the water in every scenario with the help of NEUBOAT Control.”
“Avikus’ NEUBOAT Control docks and safely navigates the boat,” said judge Ben Stein. “The system makes docking anywhere a snap while also providing situational awareness and control in the water. Available on new builds and for retrofitting, Avikus Control brings cutting-edge advanced assistance technology to new and existing boats.”
As the world’s first semi-autonomous docking system for recreational boats, Avikus NEUBOAT Control works in tandem with NEUBOAT Dock on a joystick-equipped vessel to create a sensor-based docking space. Once a user selects a docking method — bow, stern, port or starboard — and begins the docking process, the system automatically calculates distance and environmental-force factors to quickly and safely dock the vessel.
Similarly, Avikus’ SMART AUTOPILOT system uses NEUBOAT Control to create a sensor-based object recognition map while underway, to offer an adaptive cruise control, real-time collision avoidance while following a set path.
NEUBOAT Control and the corresponding NEUBOAT systems are available for OEM applications or certified dealer refits.

About AVIKUS:
Avikus, HD Hyundai’s autonomous navigation technology developer, recently announced its innovative smart navigation and docking solution has redefined smart boating with the NEUBOAT system. With its initial offering in the system, NEUBOAT Dock and NEUBOAT Dock II, Avikus takes the stress out of docking by offering increased situational awareness. Laying the groundwork for future automation NEUBOAT Dock II gives boaters a bird’s eye view for easy docking, single or multiple camera views, object detection and a docking assist path. The next evolution of the NEUBOAT system is NEUBOAT Navi with Control, providing real-time information on the location, distance and speed of both stationary and moving objects ahead. NEUBOAT’s smart autopilot and user-friendly interface make every maneuver smooth and effortless. Avikus has garnered impressive industry recognition – in 2022 and 2023 NEUBOAT was recognized at CES for Innovation, in 2024 it received a Red Dot Design Award and in 2025 it was recognized with an iF Design Award, NMMA Innovation Award at the Miami International Boat Show and was selected by Boating Industry as one of 2025’s Top Products.
