Plymouth, WI – June 22, 2009 – Anglers Insight Marketing LLC™ (AIM) announces that the Catch-Record-Release™ (CRR™) enables the issuance of a walleye fishing tournament permit during the otherwise “closed” summer dates.

The AIM Catch-Record-Release™ (CRR™) format is revolutionizing the concept of tournament fishing for ALL species. In the past, fishing tournaments required fish to be brought to the stage for weighing and display to local fans. The tournament organizations stressed the importance of proper care of the fish (in the livewells of the competitors’ boats) during the day.

Unfortunately, during the warm water summer months, dead fish were a reality. Fish died during the long, warm days in the “livewells”. Anglers received a “dead fish penalty” for any fish not deemed capable of surviving live release. But the larger problem was the unacceptable high percentage of fish that died AFTER the “live” release. For this reason, South Dakota prohibits summer walleye (and salmon) fishing tournaments.

In contrast, CRR™ is an IMMEDIATE release format. Each walleye is measured, photographed, and immediately released – in the SAME location to be caught again by other tournament or local anglers.

John Lott, Chief of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources with the South Dakota Department of Game, Fish and Parks reports, “Because of concerns with post-release mortality of walleye in tournaments where walleyes are caught, placed in livewells, and later weighed and released, catch and release tournaments for walleye are not permitted from June 1st through September 15th.”

For the first time the AIM Catch-Record-Release™ (CRR™) format opens the door to stage competitive fishing tournaments on the vast – and incredible – South Dakota fisheries during the peak summer period. Mr. Lott continues, “However, your immediate release format removes concerns related to the possibility for high mortality following a weigh-in event.”

The upcoming AIM Pro Walleye Series™ tournament (August 13 to 15, 2009) is possible ONLY because of the CRR™ format. The tournament is the centerpiece of the South Dakota Walleye Classic & Festival. This event will also feature other AIM exclusive concepts, including live “On the Water” streaming video coverage from the competitors’ boats, live AIM Pro Track™ GPS tracking, and live coverage of the weigh-in on www.aimfishing.com. The daily weigh-in will feature on-the-water photos and videos of HUNDREDS of Lake Oahe walleyes.
