RHINELANDER, Wisconsin — Final details are in place for Nicolet College’s second annual Musky Seminar, a three-day program to be held March 22 and 23, and April 6.

Participants can attend one, two or all three sessions, which will be held in the Lakeside Center on the Nicolet College campus, located one mile south of Rhinelander just off Hwy. G.

Ten different classes designed for those new to the sport as well as experienced musky hunters looking to put more fish in the boat are being planned.

“All of the class sessions are focused on giving people the knowledge and skills they need so they can hit the water running when musky season opens in May,” said Steve Heiting, the event’s lead presenter and the managing editor of Musky Hunter magazine. “If there’s a secret to catching muskies regularly, it’s putting together a whole bunch of little things and doing them correctly.”

Joining Heiting in presenting seminars are northwoods guides Rob Manthei and Scott Biscobing, and lure designer Jeremy Baalke.

New this year is the Friday night session on March 22 for beginning musky anglers, which was added in answer to requests from people who attended the Musky Seminar in 2018. That night, Baalke will teach a lure-building seminar after which attendees will leave with a lure they made themselves.
