Big muskie caught on Mamie Lake, Cisco Chain in Land O Lakes, WI on 7/2/2014

While fishing with my 9 year old nephew for panfish, he recommended we try a new spot and I agreed. I began to reel in my slip bobber rig pretty fast when something attacked my bobber. I cranked in my line and grabbed the only thing I had available, my 6'0" light action with a floating rapala on 8 lb test. As I casted out another boat asked if we had any luck, I said no but something just ate my slip bobber, he replied well if you need any help just start yelling. Before he started his boat I began reeling in the rapala and she hit. I set the hook hard and new something BIG was on. She surfaced many times and even tail walked for us. The whole time I'm thinking my line would break any second. Not a net big enough the guy in the other boat tried getting close enough to net her, but she saw his net and went deep again. By this time the strangers boat was next to mine, he handed my nephew the net and he gave it to me. I eased her to the surface once again and with my rod in my left hand and the net in my right I finally landed her. A fish of a lifetime caught with 8 lb test and landed with a net I borrowed from another fisherman and doing it all with my nephew in the boat is something that I'll never forget._x000D_ _x000D_ John Federl, son in law of Tom OLK.
