PMTT Spirit/Okoboji Chain Day 1 results

A heavy rain and upper 50’s at night the last couple days help to turn on the 2nd qualifier of the PMTT on Spirit/Okoboji sponsored by Musky Hunter Magazine. Known as Iowa’s Great Lakes Spirit Lake and the Okoboji Chain put on a show with 57 fish caught on Day 1 of the event. Shane Akin & Matt Ahrenholtz, both locals, lit the field on fire with a record setting one day catch of 9 fish up to 42.5” and currently hold the Day 1 lead. The team of John & Gino Valasek got Big Fish honors with a 48.5”, but the fishing was so great that they didn’t even make the top ten with that big girl.
