The bite was truly insane for Day 1 of the Recon Boats World Championship on beautiful Clear Lake in Iowa. The town along with the muskies, welcomed us with open arms. Clear Lake is known for its Small-Town Lake Life appeal and it didn’t let the anglers down, with triples, quads and even a quintuple rounding out the top 5. The field caught and released 52 muskies, which is over 100% of the field, a first for a Day 1 PMTT Event, with 27 teams, over half the field, already qualifying for the final day of fishing on Sunday. The fish were caught all over the lake and throughout the entire day, with no set windows or spots. In fact, most anglers agreed that entire lake was the spot. Our current leaders are the Team of Ryan Becker & Alex Mclean with four fish a 38.5”, 38.25”, 38” & 33.5”, Big fish of the day was a 44” caught by the team of Scott Popowski & Chris Reibe. The anglers are looking forward to Day 2 tomorrow with many believing the bite will continue through the final elimination day tomorrow. Stay tune for more updates tomorrow and be sure to follow us on Facebook for real-time updates throughout the day.
