Man Drowns While Ice Fishing

The Daviess County Sheriff’s Department reports a Loogootee man died Friday night after falling through the ice while fishing near Cannelburg.

Emergency responders were called to 10240 E. 500 S., near Cannelburg, shortly after 7 p.m. Friday after learning that Roger Williams, 55, had fallen through the ice.

Williams was recovered from the water by South East fire units and pronounced dead at the scene.
