LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) – The Wisconsin Interscholastic Fishing Association State Championship brought almost 100 high school teams from all over the state to La Crosse.
After competing in WIFA tournaments all winter long, anglers were able to start boring through the ice in championship competition bright and early at 7:30 a.m Saturday.
Scott Lafler, a member of the WIFA board of directors, said that bringing hundreds of anglers to an area can affect the eco-system, which is why they work hard to get the fish back in the water.
