NORTH WINDHAM (WGME) — Climate change may result in less ice on the lakes in the coming decades, and it could spell trouble for ice fishermen in the future. Ice fishing is a popular activity all winter long in Maine. For some, it’s more than fun, it’s a career.
Wayne Berzinis owns Sebago Bait near Sebago Lake in North Windham. It’s a seasonal business that depends on good ice fishing conditions. He says this year, the ice is good, but that’s not always the case.
