Shimano School Welcomes Touring Bass Professional Alex Davis

Successful Guide and Tournament Angler Covers Bass Techniques,Tools and Trends

Shimano School returns on Tuesday, August 3, with another informative and entertaining event. JP DeRose hosts these live streaming video seminars, featuring compelling topics and special guests from across the spectrum of the fishing world. Shimano School meets every two weeks and streams live on the Shimano Facebook Page and the Shimano North America’s YouTube Channel.

Alex Davis headlines this edition of Shimano School to discuss the techniques and tools he relies on as a professional bass angler. Davis operates a successful guide service on Lake Guntersville in Alabama and fishes competitively on Major League Fishing’s Tackle Warehouse Pro Circuit. A big fan of largemouth in the grass, Davis maintains a finger on the pulse of the hottest patterns and trends in bass fishing to help him and his clients catch more and bigger bass.

“I’ve been fishing for a living since I was 20 years old,” reflects Davis. “Now, I operate a guide service on Guntersville — where I run around 150 trips every year — and compete on the Major League Fishing Pro Circuit. Success on tour or as a full-time guide demands versatility: Bass are rarely in the same places or doing the same things from week-to-week or even day-to-day. I’m looking forward to sharing some of the ways that I stay one step ahead on some of the country’s best bass fisheries in this week’s Shimano School. As a bonus, I’ll give our viewers my first-hand impressions of some of the terrific Shimano, G. Loomis, and Jackall products that made their world premieres at ICAST.”

Make plans to attend Shimano School this season. We invite viewers to post questions to the Facebook and YouTube live streams, while Davis and DeRose provide the answers needed to help viewers catch more and bigger bass throughout the season. Shimano School is in session starting at 8 PM EST on Tuesday, August 3.
